Jin Isurugi is a Japanese Savior and third-year in Akane Academy, as well as being the older brother of Gen Isurugi and Leader of the Striker Unit. After graduating, he became the Principal of Akane Academy, taking over for Mari Shimon, who was kidnapped by the Six Wings Conference.

Having underwent training and mastering what he learned under Lu Zhixin, Jin was promoted as the 8th S Rank Savior, then became one of the Six Heads, succeeding Andou Suruga. He is also a member of the Six Hands (阿修羅手(バインド) Ashura-te, lit. "Asura's Hands"), being the sole male member who fights alongside Moroha and the others against Metaphysicals.

Appearance[]

Jin is a tall young man with a well-built physique, which makes him appear strong yet agile, being much taller compared to Moroha. He is shown to wear a stern expression that also is described to be an honest and frank face.

Jin is seen to be dressed in the school uniform of Akane Academy and in their battle uniform in either combat or training.

Personality[]

Differing from his younger brother, Gen, Jin is shown to be serious and impartial, as well as being very apologetic as he apologized for the crude actions of his brother. He took an interest in Moroha after the latter defeated his younger brother who bullied Satsuki until he had defeated Gen in combat; as well as due to Moroha's status as the Ancient Dragon who has both White and Black Arts.

Initially, he believed in weighing the needs of the many rather than the few, as he didn't want to send in the other Strikers against a nine-headed hydra endangering their lives just to rescue Satsuki and Shizuno. However, after being confronted by Moroha about his decision who later rescued the two on his own, Jin started to change his view on things.

Despite being the captain of the Striker Unit known among the "Golden Generation", he isn't at all above realizing when he is weaker than someone as shown when he said that Moroha was the strongest in Akane Academy with no jealousy. This doesn't stop him from wanting to get stronger and reach the same level as Moroha and the other Rank S Saviors. His sense or right and wrong, as well as morals has caused him to be unable to understand the reasons that someone bullies those weaker than themselves such as the case with his younger brother, Gen.

History[]

At some point, prior to joining Akane Academy, Jin trained his little brother, Gen in how to use his prana. He was also known as being apart of the Golden Era among saviors as he and the other Strikers among the same era took down several metaphysicals.

Jin is a Shirogane and a Rank A who has an outstanding talent to where he was stated to be among the "Golden Era" in his generation and considered a Super Rookie, being able to defeat multiple Metaphysicals. Overall, he was among if not the strongest students in Akane Academy prior to the arrival of Moroha Haimura, the Ancient Dragon and unofficial S-Rank Savior. Being the Striker Unit Captain, he has great authoritative power of the unit, composed of the best students among Akane Academy, showcasing adept leadership and strategic skills when leading them. He defeated Zlatan, a Rank A and the Strongest among the Cradle of the Sun ranked Le Solide, using Jupiter, Mars (Lightning), and Hagun at the same time,[1] despit their difference in strength. Moroha ranked Jin as among the Top-Class Saviors, superior to Angela and Yuri, even among the Top A Ranked Saviors in the Japanese Branch, holding his own against an Arch Fiend.[2]

Jin has proven several times that he is an effective savior enough to be recognized by the top A Rank Saviors in the Japanese Branch able to also hold his own against an Arch Fiend. In wanting more strength to reach S Rank, Jin learned the Shikai Method, one which allows him to produce the exact same satana as Metaphysicals, granting him much greater power than before. Difficult, at first, but Jin started learning to use and master manipulating satana, same as the Black Knights who serves under Andou Suruga, defeating the strongest one himself. After recovering enough, he mastered the "Inverse Light Arts", same as the ones each Black Knight mastered, defeating Lu Zhixin, and was soon recongnized as the eigth S-Rank Savior.

Shikai (尸解(しかい) Shikai, lit. "Corpse Solution"): A technique, opposite to Chousoku, where Jin holds his breath and instead maintains such functions using "Inner Life". It is described as severing oneself from the universe and produces the power domant inside a person's soul, Satana, the same as a Metaphysical. At first, however, once wasted satana isn't an easy power to regain after a period of time, causing him to spit up darkish blood afterwards.

Swordsmanship[]

He is skilled in swordsmanship, able to spar against Moroha during their training camp over the summer and use a method of sword drawing in one of his attacks. Jin could also use stances such as both Hassou-no-kamae and Waki-gamae famed stances found in old martial arts to a great extent.

Intelligence[]

As the leader of the Striker Unit, Jin can make a number of rational judgment calls based on the situation at hand, which is first shown as he acknowledged that none of the current Striker Unit (Moroha included) wouldn't even be able to defeat the Nine-Headed Hydra without losing some of their members to save Shizuno and Satsuki.

Light Arts[]

Further information: Light Art

As a Shirogane, Jin can strengthen himself to superhuman levels, letting him combat Metaphysicals, being ranked as an A-Rank and the person who taught his younger brother for two years in the Light Arts he learned, showcasing his great knowledge in them. As such, he could also use the high-level techniques much better than other students, as a testament to this, Jin could learn "Hagun", a super advanced one that Ma Diegua, Sir Edward Lampard, and Moroha Haimura, all of whom being among the strongest Shirogane. Having gained the same Satana as a Metaphysical and encountering the Black Knights, he has mastered the Inverse Light Arts, one which is much different from the original variations, removing their normal limitations.

Inner Life (内活通(ないかつつう) Uchikatsū): He can increase his healing powers using prana, which makes it easier for him to recover from severe wounds over an extended period of time. It became possible to recover from the damages done against one of the strongest Black Knights, having learned the Inverse Inner Life, he could absorb prana (life force), making it possible to recover at an almost accelerated rate, almost like a Metaphysical.

High Durability (金剛通(こんごうつう) Kongōtsū): He can strengthen his defensive power using prana, something that makes it possible to withstand much stronger attacks. In using Inverse High Durability, one which allowed Jin to withstand a serious hit from Lu Zhixin, something that he wouldn't use on anyone aside from the other Six Heads or Metaphysicals.

Jupiter (太歳(たいさい) Taisai): A high-level Light Technique, which is his favored move, where he infuses massive prana inside his sword, then releases a downward slash that generates a torrent of wind strong enough to mow down everything in his path.

Mars (熒惑(ちんせい) Keikou): A super-advanced Light Art classified as one of the Five Star Techniques, which transforms one's prana into a phenomenon matching his foundation, in his case, it manifests lightning. In using Inverse Mars, he can manifest black lightning, much stronger and potent than the lightning he used before, capable of damaging Lu Zhixin and even the Black Knights.

Hagun (破軍(はぐん) Hagun, lit. "Army"): A secret technique among secret techniques which he later learned over the summer, which lets Jin move as if he had teleported.
